Help answer the question about back rib pain symptoms
Pain around ribs and back?
I am not sure if I should be extremely worried or not. But, I experience these symptoms on and off, and this is not the first time it has happened. But, this time is the longest it has lasted. I was working out the other day, (just doing some squats and some dumbbell raises) and once I stopped, I was fine. A couple of hours later, I started noticing pain (i am female, 24 by the way) around my ribs and back when I breathe. It is worse back rib pain symptoms sometimes when I stand up and then sometimes when I sit down. I haven't worked out in 2 days now. It is the worst when I am sleeping. It's not like a killer pain, but more like a dull throb when I try to take a deep breath. I am wondering if I maybe just pulled a major upper body muscle? or if this is something I should be more worried about. The other parts of my body are very sore as well (the ones I was working) and I feel nauseated and chilled (but that always happens to me after a good workout and I eat like a COW) Should I go to the doctor or wait a few more days to see if it subsides?please only REAL answers plz. I am not into clicking on links and I simply will not. Unless it is a REAL answer pertaining to my question, please do not even botherDamn, I didn't mean I literally eat like a COW, I meant, I do not think my chills and nausea are due to a lack of calories after exercising.... this shit is useless

Help answer the question about severe back injury
Back injury... would I still be allowed to join Army?
I'm a 20 year old female. About three years ago I suffered a severe lower back injury and had to have surgery to correct it. My back is now fully functional and I can do strenuous activities but I do have mild to moderate daily pain. There is a visible three-inch scar. I went to see a recruiter today about joining the Army severe back injury and he said I could get a tattoo over the scar so the injury wouldn't be discovered during my medical evaluation. Is this ethical? Should I lie about my injury/surgery? If I did admit to my injury, would I be disqualified from joinging the Army or limited in any way in what they would allow me to do?The pain doesn't concern me. I've lived with it so long and I work in construction right now. It might get a little more sore, but I've been training physically for months now so I'd be used to it by the time I enlisted. I know the pain itself won't limit me, I'm just scared of them finding out and limiting me against my will.No lumbar fusion. I fractured my L4 and L5 vertebrae and had a discectomy performed on the L4-L5 and L5-S1 discs.

Help answer the question about lower back pain
How do you relieve lower back pain in your 3rd trimester?
I've been sooo uncomfortable for lower back pain about 2 weeks now. I have lower back pain across the back side of my hips. I know it's just the baby putting pressure on my body, but I can't sleep. How did/do you help the pain?
According to statistics, about three in every four people have experienced lower back pain at least once in their lifetime. Although many can have bouts with back pain, most of these attacks are not really serious. In fact, pain in that area is mostly caused by sprains and overstretching of muscles.
Lower back pain can range from mild to excruciating. If you have experienced the extreme type of ache in your lower back, you will agree that anyone who is suffering from it would be more than willing to drink anything just to ease the pain and be able to alleviate the stiffness. However, the treatment of this condition is actually dependent on the underlying causes. In order for you to get rid of your lower back pain for good, you first need to have an idea of what are the triggers for lower back pain.
Simple Lower Back Problem
Majority of cases of lower back pain fall into this category. Around 19 of the 20 instances of acute lower back problem can also be classified under this type, which is also known as non-specific type.
People usually experience simple back pain due to sprained muscles or ligaments. Many patients experience the pain right after bending or lifting very heavy objects. On the other hand, some feel the pain after a few hours or even days. In some instances, the pain lower back pain can also be caused by slight problems with either the small joints or the disc located in the middle of two vertebrae.
This type of problem usually does not last very long. In fact, patients usually recover or report drastic improvement within 7 to 14 days. Statistics show that in some people, the pain can be dramatically relieved within a month; while in 9 out of 10 cases, the pain can be gone in less than two months. However, many also report recurrences of pain every now and then. Only a small number of cases result to chronic or long-lasting lower back woes.
Cauda Equina Syndrome
This is another underlying reason why people experience extreme aches in their lower back. Although this condition is quite rare, it is important to remember that this can be very serious and usually needs immediate medical attention.
A pinched nerve on the lower part of the spinal cord causes this syndrome. More often than not, this disorder is not only painful, but also impairs bowel and bladder functions. If you experience sudden weakness in one or both of your lower limbs and numbness in the area surrounding your anus, you need to call the doctor immediately. If not properly treated, the affected nerves might be damaged permanently.
Trapped Nerve
An irritated or strained nerve in the spinal cord is the main cause of this type of lower back pain. This can occur in about one for every 20 lower back pain cases. You will know that a nerve in the back is in trouble because you will really feel the ache along the path of the nerve. Usually, patients feel tingling pain or sensation down to the feet and legs. And sometimes, the pain you feel on your leg is much more severe than that on your lower back.
Arthritis
Another culprit for lower back problems is the inflammation of the spine joints. This is more common in elderly people. The most common type of arthritis responsible for such pain is osteoarthritis. However, young people who experience lower back pain due to joint inflammation might be suffering from Ankylosing spondylitis which can cause stiffness in the affected area.
The most common treatment for lower back pain is the use of anti-inflammatory drugs or painkillers combined with exercise and physical therapy. However, if the reason for your back pain is arthritis, you can look for supplements that contain glucosamine sulfate, which has been well documented to help ease arthritic pain and stiffness. One product that can help you alleviate lower back pain and improve your condition naturally is Flexcerin. For more information, visit http://www.flexcerin.com/
| Neuropathic Pain Neuropathic pain is increasingly recognized as a chronic disabling condition. It is frequently thought of as harder to treat than other pain types, and it often results in a poorer quality of life. Around 30% of adults in the UK alone have some type of chronic pain and some estimates suggest that one in five of these will have symptoms of neuropathic pain. This second edition of the popular pocketbook has been fully updated to include recent developments in the diagnosis and management of neuropathic pain. It includes new chapters on the clinical assessment of neuropathic pain and the use of screening tools in its diagnosis. This edition also includes a new chapter focusing on neuropathic lower back pain, a newly emerging clinical entity which is thought to be the most prevalent type of neuropathic pain in developed countries. Acupuncture Mat for Back Pain Relief

Other reviews for the Medi-Dyne CoreStretch Exerciser have been glowing. I’m happy for these owners, but I am not as enthused. The device will help to stretch the back and shoulders, even the hamstrings, but after the first few basic recommended stretches, it is mostly a matter of repetition even though the instruction sheet illustrates different “advanced” stretches. For this reason I think it is very overpriced; hence my mediocre rating. If the device were $30.00 rather than $60.00, I’d rate it somewhat higher.
Help answer the question about back pain exercises
Stretches or exercises that help back pain?
There is a constant pinch halfway up my back (a few inches below my left shoulderblade) which I attribute to hours of band back pain exercises practice with a sousaphone on. I always stretch and warm up every day before I ever put it on. I don't doubt that the first thing that falters when marching for so long is my posture and I suppose that contributes to my back problem. What else can I do to help ease the pain in my back, and prevent this from happening in the future?

For its portability (i.e. size), it’s pretty indispensable. It’s smaller than a couple of tennis balls, so can easily fit in any overnight bag. Take it on trips and you’ll always have a bit of relief available to you if back pains start up. You can’t take your larger stay-at-home back devices, but you can take this. It doesn’t work as well as the larger devices, but is definitely better than nothing, especially when you’re away from home and desperate. I’m usually able to get a few cracks with it for a bit less relief than at home, but relief, nonetheless.
The thing is that, being wood, it’s awfully uncomfortable. I’ve read that discomfort with similar devices often goes away after the first few uses, but it hasn’t for me with this device. It’s about as comfortable as lying on sculpted wood sounds. A similar product, the popular DaVinci Tool, is flexible and comes in hard and soft forms and sounds like a more comfortable device for achieving a similar result at a similar size. It’s a bit more expensive, but I’m thinking of buying one eventually and kind of wish that I had in the first place. So, while this device does the job and is a good size at a good price, you may want to consider paying a bit more for a device that you’ll be more “comfortable” with, pun intended. If you don’t mind compromising comfort for price, though, this’ll do ok.

Help answer the question about sciatica back pain
Leg pain / back pain / sciatica?
3 weeks ago i was sorting out my daughters room and my back started to hurt.. ok i thought take some pills i be ok.. Then late that night i got woken up by the pain, it was very bad, my lower back, left bum cheek and my left leg was hurting, think it was sciatica.. ? When i woke up again in the morning, ,my left leg felt numb, no pain, just numb and tingly... was weird.. I rung the sciatica back pain doc and was told to keep taking pain killers, and keep active as much as possible.. so i did..Anyway, last week back pain went, but the numbness was still there, i went to the doctor and he checked my legs, and said sounds like i may have trapped a nerve, to keep taking pain killers, and wait up to 6 weeks from when it first happened, then come back.. ?I know its only been 3 weeks, but the numbess feeling has gone but still feels a little weird like it is not my leg, my heal still feels numb, and i am unable to put a sock or shoe on my left foot, feels like someone is pulling a piece of string in the back of my thigh ?And my calf is hurting bad too, from the back of my thigh to the bottom of my thigh, is constantly aching, and can i can sort of feel like the odd contraction... ?Any suggestions?/Experience?Thanks in advance
