I use this product to help me relieve stress and pain from bone spurs in my neck. I use it in the morning and evening for about 30 minutes and I feel so much better after use. This is a sturdy machine and is holding up very well. I would recommend to anybody with back pain to use it.
Help answer the question about sciatica back pain
Leg pain / back pain / sciatica?
3 weeks ago i was sorting out my daughters room and my back started to hurt.. ok i thought take some pills i be ok.. Then late that night i got woken up by the pain, it was very bad, my lower back, left bum cheek and my left leg was hurting, think it was sciatica.. ? When i woke up again in the morning, ,my left leg felt numb, no pain, just numb and tingly... was weird.. I rung the sciatica back pain doc and was told to keep taking pain killers, and keep active as much as possible.. so i did..Anyway, last week back pain went, but the numbness was still there, i went to the doctor and he checked my legs, and said sounds like i may have trapped a nerve, to keep taking pain killers, and wait up to 6 weeks from when it first happened, then come back.. ?I know its only been 3 weeks, but the numbess feeling has gone but still feels a little weird like it is not my leg, my heal still feels numb, and i am unable to put a sock or shoe on my left foot, feels like someone is pulling a piece of string in the back of my thigh ?And my calf is hurting bad too, from the back of my thigh to the bottom of my thigh, is constantly aching, and can i can sort of feel like the odd contraction... ?Any suggestions?/Experience?Thanks in advance

Help answer the question about back pain nerve
Is it possible to get a pinched nerve (causing back pain)...as a result of lifting weights?
I have a pinched nerve (my back hurts like hell)...my doctor is speculating that my weight lifting is perhaps too strenuous and is the cause of it.....is that possible?
The pain caused by a herniated disc is one of the most debilitating and excruciating experiences a person can endure. Consequently, the search for herniated disc pain relief is the primary concern for sufferers of this condition.
This condition is occurs when the discs in between backbone vertebrae undergo tearing that causes the inner gel of the disc to bulge out or be herniated. The bulging gel then pinches on the spinal cord or a nerve resulting in very painful symptoms.
There are over 30 treatments known for the relief of this kind of pain which can be categorised broadly into surgical and non-invasive methods.
A series of back surgeries are available for providing herniated disc pain relief. The doctor will recommend the best procedure depending on the type of affliction you have. Keep in mind that surgical methods are not always necessary, do not always cure this ailment and may even cause worse symptoms than before.
Various types of oral medication are also available for this ailment. They don't cure the patient of the pain but work to treat symptoms including nerve pain and inflammation, as well as side effects such as sleeplessness. Take note that prolonged use of medication may cause addiction, liver dysfunction and digestive problems such as constipation.
Steroid injections are another remedy for pain relief. The steroids are injected directly into the back pain nerve tissue and are usually prescribed together with oral medications. However, this treatment should not be administered more than twice a year because of the risk of damage to the cartilages.
Fortunately for sufferers today other options exist for natural pain management that are just as effective – if not more – than surgery and pharmaceutical pills. For example, there are herbal remedies in a gel form that can be applied onto the affected area. These work to reduce inflammation, painful nerves and tissue swelling. Should you opt for this method, ensure that you seek the advice of a registered alternative medical healer.
Ice packs are another therapy for pain relief which are recommended over heat therapy. Ice helps to reduce the inflammation and swelling around the pinched nerve. The key thing here is to repeat the ice pack treatment regularly, preferably every hour. You will start to experiencing relief after a few hours and distinct improvement after a couple of days. Heat treatment, on the other hand, speeds up blood flow to the affected area causing more swelling and additional painful symptoms.
Bouncing on a gym therapy ball is another ‘do-it-at-home' way of delivering herniated disc pain relief. You simply bounce gently on the ball for up to 5 minutes. The bouncing aids the supply of blood and nutrients to the disc gel providing pain relief and faster healing.
Controlled exercise and massage therapies are also alternative methods of herniated disc pain relief. Seek out a professional trainer or a trained massage therapist who is familiar with the right therapies for this kind of condition. Again, being consistent in your exercise and training program is important for continued healing.
Quite often discs will heal on their own within a few weeks or months. So before you jump to steroids and surgery, try out the natural pain management options first.
If you have tried both conventional medical treatment and alternative treatments as well and the pain is only getting worse and unmanageable, you may be one of the people who have no choice but to opt for surgery. Only you know how much pain you are in and the decision is yours. If you decide on surgery be sure and try to find a doctor who can perform one of the less invasive type surgeries that are availible today. They carry less chances of complications and a much faster recovery time.
Our site contains a world of information on herniated discs, their causes and their cures. If you want to stay up to date and informed on this subject, please feel free to visit.

Help answer the question about low back pain relief
Lower back pain relief?
My husband has lower back pain that starts in his lower back where his pants sit and go into his buttocks and down his legs. He has been seeing a chiropractor for temporary low back pain relief relief. He has taken vicadin, tremodol, ibuprofren etc. Nothing seems to phase him. He is so stubborn and doesnt want to go to a doctor. Is there any types of vitamins or pills that anyone knows of that will help lessen the pain? He is only 28! I'm sure he needs back surgery but he doesnt want to go since his work doesnt pay disability. I'm working on that issue tho!!
Okay, so it's morning time and the sound of the alarm is blaring in your ears. And as if that's not bad enough, you go to reach for the wretched clock that shook you from your dreams and found that old familiar ache and pain in your lower back. Another morning and it's the same old thing. Back pain is there to greet you with a grimace again. You've found yourself once more desperate for some low back pain relief.
Does this scenario sound familiar? Are you ready to change the routine? Are you ready from some relief of the pain in your lower back pain? While it's true that some causes of low back pain are due to things that require medical treatment, there is a vast majority of sufferers that simply need to make some minor changes in their daily habits that will help them to get the relief they are looking for. Implementing these changes in your routine can give you that same relief as well.
1. Focus on posture: you may not realize it but your posture plays a huge roll in how your back feels. low back pain relief You probably already know that any awkward twisting or turning can cause a kink in your spine and you've probably grimaced a time or two as a result.
Did you know that your posture even plays a role when you're sleeping? Alignment of your back and hips are involved in the posture game as well. One way to do that when you're sleeping is when you lay on your side. Do so making sure your hips are stacked one on top of another. In addition, place a pillow between your knees to keep your hips in alignment.
2. Stretching: stretching out your back muscles is important in order to keep the flexibility in your back. Lack of flexibility causes shortened tight muscles that can pull on vertebra. Muscle opposite of the shortened tight muscle group end up becoming stretched out and weak. The result is a weakened muscle that can not support the vertebra in your back.
One simple stretch that can be done is to lie on your left side on the ground. Stretch out your right leg in front of you until it's fully extended and grab your toe with your left hand. Stretch your left leg behind you and bend at the knee grabbing your left toe with your right hand. Use each hand and pull on each foot you're holding onto while still laying on your side. Hold stretch for 20 seconds and then release. Repeat the stretch 3 times on each side.
3. Exercise to strengthen the back: One of the best things you can do for your body overall is to exercise and strengthen muscle groups. This holds true for your core and back muscles as well. Your core muscles are your back, abdominals and sides, otherwise known as the obliques. Strong muscles, as indicated above, help to support the spine. In addition, they protect the back from injury during activity such as lifting heavy items. While it's important to use proper lifting techniques, strong core muscles give additional support during that kind of movement.
One excellent exercise for strengthening the back is the Romanian (straight leg) deadlift. Make sure you keep your back straight when lifting and lowering the weight.

I had constant lower back pain. The closest relief I found was everyday, sometimes twice per day, use of the Teeter. I thought that enough was great. I then bought the Spine-Worx because I am always on the lookout for help with lower back aid. Since the first 15 minute session, my back felt normal with no pain. It must have straightened my spine out or something. It sounds too simple but something helped me incredibly. I use it about once per week but can barely remember what lower back pain feels like.

The human body goes about its work without calling a lot of attention to what it is doing. Every once in a while, it gives a sign that something isn't working quite right. A person may suddenly get a fever or discover that there is blood in the urine. These are two common kidney cancer symptoms that can often be mistaken for other conditions.
When visiting a doctor because of suspicious symptoms, it is important for him to know if the patient is at risk of getting kidney cancer. Some common risk factors include having undergone long-term dialysis, a family history of kidney cancer, smoking or being exposed to second-hand smoke and occupational exposure to chemicals or hazardous waste.
Once the risks have been assessed, the patient often undergoes a physical exam in order to discover any other possible kidney cancer symptoms. It is important to inform the doctor of any excessive, unexplained weight loss, consistent pain in the side or lower back, the presence of lumps in the abdomen or a general sense of being unwell. back pain cancer symptoms Doctors often check for high blood pressure and swelling of the lower extremities.
When a doctor suspects that a patient may have kidney cancer, he can perform a number of procedures in order to get a diagnosis. Attack-Kidney-Cancer may have the answers. The most common first step in diagnosing any condition is to perform a physical exam. If a doctor discovers symptoms of kidney cancer during a physical exam such as a fever, high blood pressure or masses in the abdomen or on the side, he will most likely proceed with further testing.
If a patient history and physical exam provide enough cause for further tests, a doctor often recommends blood and urine tests. Kidney cancer symptoms found by these tests often include unexplained rises in the level of certain substances like creatinine, which is filtered by the kidneys. If something is preventing the kidneys from filtering properly, doctors will want to perform further testing.
Additional testing including ultrasounds, computed tomography (CT) scans or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans may become necessary if the previous results indicate the possibility of kidney cancer. A biopsy is an examination of tissues or liquids from the living body to determine the existence or cause of a disease. This is often done by extracting cells using a long needle. Biopsies can tell if a mass is cancerous or benign.
If kidney cancer symptoms and subsequent testing determines that a patient does, in fact, have kidney cancer, the doctor will advise a treatment plan. Treatment for kidney cancer can range from radiation therapy and surgery to chemotherapy and immunological therapy or a combination of treatments.
Seeing the possible symptoms of kidney cancer can be a frightening experience. More information can be found at http://www.attack-kidney-cancer.com. It is important to remember that many of the symptoms that can indicate kidney cancer can also indicate something as simple as a cyst or an infection. Whatever the cause of any symptom, it is always best to see a doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

Help answer the question about causes of lower back pain
Do cross training ellipitcal machines cause lower back pain that spreads around the lower abdomen?
Just started working out after not working causes of lower back pain out for about 8 months. Only two days. But I have some pain in lower back and to the left and right of my belly. Has anyone else had pain (aching) after using these machines? I used them all the time years ago with no pain. Maybe I'm just getting old. Thanks.
The cause of lower back pain is a source of loss work time, agony in daily life and many times a bevy of tears that seem never ending.
Back pain is aggravating, irritating, frustrating and a source of pain that feels like none other. At times it can take your breath away.
The lower back is created from five vertebrae, the sacrum and the coccyx and is made up of the lower one third of the spine.
The lumbar vertebrae have an incredibly tough job of supporting all the upper body weight on their hourglass-shaped rings of bone.
The tail bone is made up of the coccyx and the sacrum and is located at the tail end of the spine. The sacrum is a group of bones which are fused together.
Think about all the pressure and weight that is exerted along the back line and it is rather easy to understand why lower back pain can be a prime location of agony.
There are many different reasons for back pain.
Some of causes of lower back pain which are caused by things in your control and others by things out of your control.
For example, things you can control include things such as poor posture and obesity, while things out of your control include a traumatic accident, an infection or even an exercise or sports injury.
As you age bones began to lose their strength and muscles begin to get less flexible, both of which predispose you to back pain as you age.
There are certain back conditions that can cause lower back pain, such as sciatica. This occurs when a ruptured or herniated disc pushes on the sciatic nerve.
When the disc puts pressure on the sciatic nerve it can cause shooting pains to race down one or both of your legs.
Spinal degeneration is another back condition associated with lower back pain.
In this condition, the general wear and tear of aging on the spinal discs lead to a narrowing of the spinal cord.
Associated with aging, spinal degeneration can leave you feeling stiff as a board in the morning and even in pain after you have been standing for prolonged periods of time.
A bulging disc, also known as a ruptured disc or a herniation, is caused by the discs located in between the vertebrae coming under too much pressure. This increasing pressure ultimately results in the cartilage pressing into the nerve roots and in the most severe of cases, into the spinal canal itself. This pressure causes severe lower back pain.
Quite commonly associated with aging, spinal arthritis is causes intermittent lower back pain. It can also cause you difficulty bending or walking. You may also experience weakness and numbness in your legs.
Back pain and aging seem to go hand in hand. But the goal is to find a physician who will listen to your concerns and your physical concerns.
No one should accept back pain as a result of aging. Don't give up on back pain relief without a fight!

Help answer the question about sciatica nerve pain
What should I do for my sciatica pain?
I have been suffering from a deep siatica (not sure if I spelled it correctly) pain for about two years. The pain starts at the top of my hip-bone, botton, and extends sciatica nerve pain down to my quads. It's my left side thats all messed up. Sometimes I can't even walk from the pain. All that doctors have given me is pain medicine. Can anyone suggest what I can do to decrese my pain? Or does anyone know who specializes with these problems? I'm not sure if I twisted wrong, or if it might be a pinched nerve. I have no idea what it is but now it's unbearable, please help. Thanks
Do you suffer from Sciatic nerve pain, or Sciatica?
Have you ever tried using either heat or ice to get some relief from the pain?
Whether or not you use heat or ice to treat your Sciatica, really depends on your symptoms. If you have other serious medical problems such as diabetes, or have bad circulation, and also suffer with Sciatica pains. Then you should avoid using the heat or ice treatments for your pain.
1. If there is no inflammation on your body, but you experience sharp and intense pain. Then you could try to use ice. This should help to nullify the pain, and also give you some relief.
2. If there is no inflammation, but you are experiencing a degree of stiffness or mild soreness. Then you could consider using sciatica nerve pain heat treatment. This method should warm up and relax the affected areas.
If you, hurt or injure the Sciatic nerve, it is vital that you don’t put any direct heat on to your back for at least 2 days. This should ensure that there isn’t any inflammation and that it does not develop. Remember though, if in any doubt, don’t use it!
Usually heat makes us feel good, but it can also increase any inflammation that may already exist. By using heat, you block the sensory receptor of the nerves. And although it may feel good whilst applied until you remove it. Despite making you feel good, the heat tends to increase any inflammation, and that could result in more pain!
When there is inflammation and swelling on your body. You could try to use ice instead of the heat. This will help to reduce the swelling and inflammation, although it is not very comfortable to use. However, if you can put up with a short amount of discomfort, this will result in relief of the Sciatic pain.
In order to prevent skin damage, you should never use heat or ice directly on the skin. The use of either heat or ice is not advisable, if you have applied any form of local analgesics.
If you are using heat or ice treatments to alleviate Sciatic pain, do so for no more than 20minutes at a time. You should allow sufficient time (1-2 hours) for the skin to return to its normal body temperature before re-using.

Help answer the question about back pain management
What do they do at Pain Management Clinics?
I have chronic back pain, and my regular doctor back pain management is sending me to one, since physical therapy isn't working. (He doesn't like to prescribe narcotic pain medication more than once). So what can I expect at the Pain Clinic?
If you suffer from lupus erythematosus, your most common symptoms will be joint and muscle pain. The signs are pretty common when you have flu or any other condition. The extent of muscle and joint pain will differ. There are people who are more resistant to the pain than others. Pain can get very intense leaving the patient feeling very weak and sick.
What I have learned is that some people suffer from this temporary problem with mild to moderate pain, while for others life comes to a complete STOP! And that's where my life was....... like many other patient I have develop chronic pain after trying months of different treatments, and I fund little to a no consistent relief from my pain, there for I was unable to return to work, or to be active, I was in bed miserable, I could not walk again without the pain, I was controlled by a Monster named Pain!.
Knee Pain Relief for Knee Osteoarthritis :
Physical therapy and the use of medicines can help you manage back pain management the pain caused by osteoarthritis. Physical therapy is a special exercise program done with the help of a trained therapist, who helps you regain movement and flexibility of your knee, in the effort to reduce painful symptoms. Stability and balance may improve when the muscles around the knee are strengthened. It can be reasonably assumed that you will need physical therapy if you choose to undergo knee surgery.
During the administration of an intra-articular injection for pain management, the patient may feel pain and pressure from the needle. In most cases, lidocaine will be injected into the site of the pain along with the pain medication in order to lessen the localized pain from the injection. In cases of severe pain, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) has been used to calm the patient before injection.
Pharmacologic interventions are accompanied by multiple side effects that slow down the process of recovery. However, non-pharmacologic non-invasive interventions such as music therapy and other forms of relaxation techniques are immensely helpful and effective in hastening the process of recuperation. Providing music therapy to patients is a very good option because everyone enjoys some or the other form of music. Therefore, this therapy provides a cure along with fun and aids in complete relaxation, the key to early recovery. Music is soothing to the ears and provides comfort, as well as the much required distraction from the sensation of pain apart from regulating the blood pressure and respiratory rates.
Take Charge Of Your Chronic Pain
Although chronic pain can be debilitating you can overcome it's effects. You need to take charge of your life, set goals and stick to them. There are many forms of relief for chronic pain; some of the best (in my opinion) are the holistic forms of treatment. They have no ill side-effects, they are all natural, and most have been around for thousands of years. This fact alone proves they must be effective.

Help answer the question about lower back pain cause
What would be the cause of lower back pain after playing tennis?
I'm only 14. I've been playing tennis for only a little over half a year, and this is the first time I've had this problem .
Cycling is often recommended as one of the best exercises to build strong body. It strengthens all the important organs, hands, arms, shoulders, chest, back, hips, thighs, knees, legs and feet.
Strangely enough, cycling also causes lower back pain and several other health problems. It nullifies all the benefits that it provides to the cyclists. In some cases cycling is the only cause of lower back pain.
How does cycling cause lower back pain?
There is nothing wrong with cycling as an exercise as such. It does provide all the benefits associated with it. The problem arises with the design and structure of most bicycles. It forces the cyclists to assume wrong postures as they try to keep themselves in alignment with their various parts such as seat, stem length, the top tube, frame, handle bar, pedals and so on.
The problem aggravates further with the modern style bicycles whose manufacturers devote more attention to make them look fashionable and stylish rather than ergonomic.
Most of the time, you have to keep bending forward lower back pain cause on your lower back in order to exert force on the pedals. This causes tightness in the muscles of the hips, thighs and legs. It forces the pelvis to shift out of its normal and optimal position. This results in muscle imbalance which causes lower back pain.
The position of the seat, its distance from the handle bar and the pedals may not match the length of arms and legs of all the riders. They may have to overstretch or cramp themselves to adjust with it in order to keep cycling.
Prevention of bicycle back pain
Bicycles come in standard designs for various age groups. It is not always possible to customize each of its parts to suit the individual’s physical needs. Nonetheless, every cyclist should try to make some adjustment to prevent strain on the lower back.
It is generally possible to shorten the top tube, raise the height of the handlebars and lower the height of the seat and pedals. When you buy a cycle, ask your vendor “to table” its frame to align correctly with your physical needs.
Treating the cycling lower back pain
Assuming that you have contracted lower back pain from cycling, you should stop cycling and take to alternative exercises such as swimming and jogging to counter its adverse effects. In case you cannot stop cycling, you should keep doing stretches and abdominal exercises to keep your back healthy.
Do you suffer from cycling lower back pain? It does not matter that you have suffered from it for 10, 15 or even 30 years. You would be completely cured in just 21 days even if you are a lost case. Back pain problems can stem from many different factors and ailments. That's why before beginning any kind of exercise and treatment, it's always advisable that you visit and speak with a doctor. They can help you pinpoint exact causes and symptoms, while recommending specific treatments to move forward with and/or avoid. With that said though, there are some tried and true exercises for back pain that can really help.
One of the key areas to focus on is really stretching back pain problems out your lower back and your core muscle group. These include your abdominals and obliques in addition to your lower back and even include your butt and hamstrings as well to a degree. By working on and stretching these together, you will improve your range of motion and will add strength as well.
For example; you can try the lying in the superman pose. Lie down on your stomach on the floor with your arms straight out in front of you. Raise your chest slightly and lift your arms a few inches off the floor. Hold the pose for a few seconds, then lower and repeat. For more difficulty you can raise your legs at the same time, or you can work in alternations such as raising your left leg and right arm, and then your right leg and left arm and so forth.
Avoid lifting heavy weights when you are doing exercises for back pain. If you do engage in weight training, focus on using lighter weights that you can easily manage, and use them for higher repetitions while focusing on maintaining proper form. Using too much weight is a common source of back pain problems, from the direct stress of the weight in addition to the poor form that it will often result in.
Additionally, focus on compound exercises and lifts that really build complete body strength as opposed to focusing on small, individual muscles and muscle groups. When in doubt though, stick to using bodyweight exercises and stretching techniques such as those described above.
If you get your back pain problems under control they will not slow you down too much and your life can get back to relative normality.
Learning to utilize the right kinds of exercise programmes for back pain can make some really big changes in the way that you feel and by incorporating them into a regular routine you will be able to live a fullfilling life.
